Founded by Louis-François Cartier in Paris in 1847, Cartier has always been recognized for its incredible craftsmanship and sophisticated elegance both in watchmaking and jewelry. The list of prominent figures who have decided to bind themselves to the Parisian firm is numerous and varied, ranging from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Andy Warhol until arriving at Ayrton Senna and Princess Grace of Monaco. The present Cartier is part of small series of watches produced by Cartier with an unusual shape with its octagonal bezel, concealed vendome lugs, four screws in the band and compleated by the winding crown set with a cabochon sapphire. The white dial has the classic decoration with the Roman numerals in black and the Blued steel baton hands. Sold with the original London deployant buckle from the period.
