The Italian founder Mario Buccellati, nicknamed the Prince of Goldsmiths, was fascinated from a very young age by all types of metals, gemstones and the Renaissance period. The extraordinary combination of these three inspirations led to his own distinct style, allowing the brand to become a highly recognizable jeweler and goldsmith in Italy. The first Buccellati store was established in 1919, located in Milan on Via degli Orefici, and in 1951, Buccellati expanded internationally by opening a store in New York. His pieces were exquisite, yet the gemstones themselves were never too flashy, elevated instead by the designs’ intricate metal smithing. The watch as jewelry isn’t anything new but the Buccellati Oktachron is one of those watches that manages to look like an heirloom but also modern at the same time. The watches are 18K gold and handmade in Switzerland. This ornate watch with an octagonal case, white dial, bezel with Roman numbers designed with engravings throughout the piece, in 18k yellow gold, stamped by Buccellati is completed by its original yellow gold and leather bracelet. To embellish this unusual timepiece there are its original box and papers confirming the model, reference and the Edition number.
