An Outstanding Rolex “Padellone“ Reference 8171 in Yellow Gold with Original Box and Papers

Introduced to the world in 1949, the Rolex Padellone 8171 is one of only two triple calendar moonphase watches created by Rolex in the 20th century. The Italian name Padellone, meaning 'big frying pan', refers to its large case size and round shape. With production numbers rumoured to be less than a thousand and a production run that lasted only a few years until about 1952, the Rolex 8171 Padellone is a rare gem.
