The model here offered is a re-edition of Cartier's famous "Driver's" wristwatch launched in the early 1930’s and fitted with a LeCoultre movement 5’’’1/2. The curved case was designed to be worn on the side of the wrist to facilitate the reading of time while holding the steering wheel of a car. The present watch is numbered 16 of a limited edition of 150 examples made in 1997 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the foundation of Cartier by Louis-Francois Cartier. Realized in two different versions, one in yellow and another icon in white gold, this specimen is a representative of the latter family and preserved in very significant conditions. The two body bombé case with cylindrical, round bar lugs presents an unusual 18K white gold deployant clasp opening by means of the lugs at 6 o’clock. The flinqué silver dial has painted radial Roman numerals on a plain outer reserve with secret "Cartier" signature at 10 o’clock and blued steel épée hands. The watch is also equipped with its original box and papers.
