The present lot is a specimen of reference 2459 realized by Patek Philippe. This very reference was launched in 1950 and was available in two series: the first one featured a caliber 12’’’120 movement while the second, such as the present watch, has the caliber 12″’400. This wristwatch has a three-body case manufactured in pink gold with a snap on back, inclined bezel and very nice extended teardrop lugs. The conditions of this very elegant timepieces are nice with original and massive proportions. The matte silver dial has a fine charm due to the ageing, with applied pink gold Arabic numerals and dart indexes, auxiliary seconds dial and dauphine pink gold hands. The watch is offered with the Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in pink gold in 1954 and its subsequent sale on 26 May 1954.
