The lot offered is an extremely rare and special specimen in 18k white gold of the reference 3732 and represents an unusual stylistic exercise by Patek Philippe. It represents the taste of the early second half of the twentieth century with the two-body rectangular case polished and brushed, rounded stepped bezel, cabochon sapphire-set winding crown, snap-on case back, sapphire crystal. It still maintains very good overall conditions and original 18K white-gold bracelet with folding clasp, signed Patek Philippe. The dial is versatile and elegant with the double material used: inner part in mother-of-pearl and outer part in agate blue with dauphine hands. The reference 3732 was given with set pieces either for women – comprising, for example, watch earrings and necklaces – or, such in this instance, for men – incorporating matching cufflinks of which the lot is still equipped, in perfect conditions. This watch is also provided with the extract from the archives confirming its production in white gold with agate blue and mother-of-pearl dial in 1977 and subsequent sale on the 24th of July 1978.
