When looking for a 1970s design, few watches are better examples of those periods’ look than the Heuer Silverstone. It was launched in 1974, as the replacement for the Heuer Monaco, without losing its trademark square case and design, equipping it with a choice of three dial colors – Red, “Fume” and Blue. Carrying the name of another famous Formula 1 racing track, one of the specimens of the Silverstone is the reference 110.313B, such as the present lot, which is characterized by the blue dial, which displays different tones. Of the three colors, it is the blue that is the hardest to find in good or notable condition such as this lot. The stainless steel case is indeed stunning for its quality and preservation and so is the bracelet. The dial presents a metallic inner bezel and a flat pale blue disc of great charm. Like many other models of Heuer, due to the automatic movement, the crown on the left side of the case, meaning the wearer never had to wind the watch.
