Heuer introduced the Carrera in 1963, these models are also known by the name of “Pre-Carrera”, with a simple and elegant but at the same time sporty and captivating design, one of the most fascinating exponents of this family is the reference 2444, as the example offered here. The so-called pre-Carrera model was available with or without the tachymeter scale, such as the present watch. The stainless steel case with smooth bezel and strong lugs is well preserved with screw back case. The dial is clean given the absence of any type of scale but the oversized subsidiary dials make the quadrant appear very full. The 30-minute register features a marking at 3, 6 and 9 minutes to indicates the time frames for the long-distance phone calls. Inside the 12 hours register is located the signature of the very important Swiss retailer based in Zurich, Beyer. This is the oldest watch boutique in Switzerland which from 1760 satisfies its customers.
