The present lot is a notable specimen of the Pasadena family, name choose because of the pleasant sound. While most of Heuer’s automatic chronographs of the 1970s and 1980s used the caliber 11/12/14/15 series of movements, Heuer also had two workhorses. One was the Valjoux 7750, equipped on the present Pasadena reference 750 501, which has three registers in a 6-9-12 configuration. It has a massive mono block case of 41 mm with the vintage cushion style and has been realized in stainless steel with PVD coating preserved in good conditions and a nice strong PVD bracelet. The dial is amazing, clean and simple, a real accomplishment given the amount of info going on like the small window for the date at 3 o’clock and all the texture. The sub dials are just lovely, slightly sunken, with chamfered edges that catch the light and beautifully ocher aged lume indexes.
