With its typical Art Deco architectural design, the reference 425, such as the wristwatch here offered, represents one of the most popular and timeless creation of Patek Philippe. Launched in 1934 and in production until 1960, at that time it was the inspiration for the firm’s other rectangular models which became celebrated and was powered by the iconic caliber 9′ 90. In 37 years o f production, a variety of configurations in gold and platinum were made and the present lot has one of the most precious dial layout ever manufactured. The two body case with faceted bezel and straight lugs is in a well-preserved yellow gold and is equipped with a truly rare black dial. Confirmed by the extract, not only the dial is untouched but is also embellished by square and baguette diamond indexes. With seconds at 6 o’clock and feuille hands, this very specimen is a truly once in a lifetime opportunity.
