With an evident recall to the ionic Calatrava reference 96, the present model 2451 by Patek Philippe was launched in 1949 and compared to its ancestor was equipped with a screwed waterproof case. The lot here offered is a very nice and elegant specimen in yellow gold. The two body case with screw down back and flat bezel is very nice with deep hallmarks on the band and under the concave lug. The dial is silvered with applied faceted yellow-gold baton indexes, dot minute markers, subsidiary seconds dial and yellow baton hands. This watch is also provided with the extract from the archives confirming its production in 1953 and subsequent sale on the 12th of November 1954.
