Corum was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland by Gaston Ries and his nephew, René Bannwart in 1955. Its name began to circulate insistently and to be known throughout the world after they presented a watch made from a $20 gold coin which immediately had a lot of success. From that moment on, Corum devoted himself to creating very special watches, with unusual shapes and using innovative materials. One of the most interesting results was the watch offered here: 47 mm aluminum case with black electro plasma treatment, transparent back with glare proof smoked sapphire crystal. Slate gray dial with silver-tone hands and hourly nautical pennants transferred on the flange, Corum logo and admiral’s cup inscribed on the sapphire glass and applied rhodium-coated hour indexes. Date display at the 3 o’clock position. Three-day/night indicator, date, and 12 hours subdials. Corum Caliber CO 397 Automatic movement with chronograph, tourbillon, second time zone, day/night indicator, date, approximately 50 hours of power reserve all included in a 47 mm dodecagon case shape. The watch is compleated by its original Box and Warranty.
