Hardly published in literature and scarcely appearing in public, reference 3536 by Rolex is one of the most elusive time-only examples of the firm. In production from the 1930’s, represents one of the most unusual "bubble back" models ever made and easily distinguishable from the better known versions by its unusual design, featuring a round case, a concave or inward-curved enlarged bezel and slender straight lugs. The present specimen immediately strikes for the quality of its steel and yellow gold case and grain de rig bracelet. Furthermore impresses by its extremely attractive champagne and black dial, perfectly matching the combination of case and bracelet. To make it even more desirable the rare signature at 12 o’clock of the Cuban retailer Cuervo Y Sobrinos active in l’Havana from 1982 until 1953.
