Rolex launched the references 5512 and 5513 in 1962 as the next generation of the legendary Submariner line. Unlike their earlier predecessors, the new references featured crown guards, which gave this tool watches a more robust look, as well as protected the crown during diving of any unnecessary mishaps. The 5513 has a bezel with minute divisions for the first fifteen minutes and silver triangle and the dial can alternatively be glossy or mat with white signature. The depth is rated to 660 ft. The present watch impresses by its original and well-preserved condition of the stainless steel case and bracelet. The black dial is a pleasure to behold, especially for the rare signature slightly above the Submariner designation: this very model has indeed been retailed by the famous brand Tiffany. The company was specialized in selling silver and jewelry but two years after launching the first sales catalogue for the United States, in 1947 Tiffany also began to sell watches, both of its own production and manufactured by the most famous brands such as Patek Philippe, Longines, Vacheron Constantin or, as in this case, Rolex. Its overall rarity and prestigious retailer signature make the present Submariner a trophy for the connoisseur of rare timepieces.
