Founded in 1791 and located in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Girard-Perregaux is one of the oldest Fine Watchmaking manufacturers still in operation. Its history is dotted with exceptional creations mingling techniques and aesthetics, like the present lot. In fact, this watch is part of the ww.tc Chronograph family that received its first major overhaul in 2006. While the case size remained at 43 mm, a few subtle changes to the lugs and in particular to the crowns and pushers had been made. The circular case fully made in pink gold is secured on the back by 6 screws and showing the movement. The dial is particular: silvered and gray with applied luminous filled dot hour markers, Arabic 12, outer gray and white revolving diurnal and nocturnal 24 hour disc with contrasting Arabic numbers, outer revolving chapter bearing the names of 24 cities, subsidiary dials at 3, 6 and 9 for seconds, 30 minutes and 12-hour recording, date aperture between 1 and 2, polished leaf hands with luminous inserts, blued steel center chronograph hand. Dedicated to the creation of exceptional Haute Horlogerie watches and passionately committed to the development of high-precision movements, this watch is in the forefront of innovation, as confirmed by the patents currently held by the manufacture.
