Produced since 1938, this reference 570 represents the first model with the unmistakable Calatrava style to be made in an oversize shape given its 35 mm diameter. Absolutely in contrast with its smaller sister, the reference 96, similar in style but much smaller with a width of 30 mm, the 570 became the largest time-only watch to join the Patek Philippe roster, remaining in production until to 1972. Mainly produced in yellow gold, there are some and very rare specimens in rose gold, white gold, stainless steel and platinum. Not only that, because even the dials had numerous variations, both in terms of colors and types of indexes that could be batons, dot, or the always very appreciated and sought after Breguet numbers. This lot is offered here with a silver finish dial with applied baton numbers, central seconds, outer perlage minute division and steel dauphine hands. Its very elegant white-gold case is the perfect representation of Patek’s way of intending a wristwatch that could fit a male wrist for gala occasions.
