The present watch offers an opportunity to acquire a well-preserved vintage Zenith Compur from the 1950s. Since Zenith’s origins, its founder George Favre-Jacot sought to manufacture precision timepieces, realizing that the quality control was best maintained, when production was housed locally. The here offered reference 7119 has been manufactured in an extremely well preserved 18k yellow-gold while these specimens were usually found in stainless steel: that make the present aviator’s oversize wristwatch very desirable. Its sharp case and beautifully dial with Arabic numbers and double scale are a rare find among watches from this period. It is nice to notice how this Compur shares many traits with the Compur produced by Universal but at the time, the two companies obviously shared similar designs and components, explaining that this rare Zenith is actually signed Compur on the dial which is a classic Universal model. That said, the Zenith version of this model is definitely notable and special.
