Created in 1927 by two aristocrats so as to compensate for the loss of the Italian Grand Prix by their hometown of Brescia, the Mille Miglia took the original option of having racing cars compete on roads rather than tracks. In 1988, Chopard took on the twin roles of partner and official timekeeper to the famous Mille Miglia race. These now inseparable ties were born from Karl-Friedrich Scheufele’s own passion for classic cars. The Mille Miglia line comprises the Mille Miglia Classic models picking up the aesthetic codes of the oldest cars having taken part in the race by presenting an annual limited edition to mark the latest edition of the race. The present lot is one of those, a Chopard Mille Miglia 16/1264 fully made in rose gold, a beautiful men’s timepiece that is powered by an automatic movement which is cased in a sapphire case. It has a 45 mm round shape featuring Chronograph functions, GMT Second Time Zone and a power reserve of 46 hours. It is completed with a rubber band that opens and closes with a deployment clasp. A limited edition of 10 pieces this watch comes with all its set, Box, Papers, Pen, Additional Strap, Cufflinks and Tire Pressure Pump.
