The Day-Date represents a really exclusive model for many features in Rolex history: it was the first waterproof self-winding chronometer certified wristwatch with a day and date function, it was equipped with a new three-link bracelet, known as the ’President, specially designed for, it was only available in noble materials such as golds or platinum. Moreover, the Day-Date was produced with a wide variety of dial colors, materials and configurations. Among the most collectable of all are ones fitted with lacquer “Stella” dials. Translucent yet vibrant, “Stella” dials offer so much exclusivity to the wearer. The 18349 here offered is extremely exclusive not only for bearing one of the fanciest Stella colors but also for its shiny configuration. The 36 mm case in white gold is preserved in marvelous condition, and still retains two strong hallmarks on the underside of the lug and set with the glamorous factory diamond bezel. The dazzling coral dial contrasts vibrantly against the diamond-set numbers and black graphics. It is preserved in excellent condition, with no cracks or hairlines at all, absolutely remarkable quality since the enamel dials are extremely fragile.
