Reference 3616 made by Rolex is the perfect example of everyday watch for its versatility and wearability. The present watch has been manufactured in 1942 and the steel case has been preserved in very nice conditions all over these years, in-fact the cushion-shaped case, is very rare to find with an unusual lugs configuration called “hooded”. A further rarity is the unusual big radio luminous painted Arabic numbers to make it easier to read, subsidiary seconds at six o’clock and luminous radio hands. This watch displays the signature “Dobbies Ltd.” on the dial below 12 o’clock. A jeweler and watch retailer, Dobbies in Nairobi, Kenya has stamped its name on a highly limited number of watches, making the present example extremely rare.
