Collectors consider the 1970/80s as Piaget’s era of superb creativity and unbounded designs. During this highly creative period, the brand designed an impressive range of cuff and bracelet watches carved in gold and adorned with exotic hard stones. Sapphires, emeralds or diamonds were only some of the materials used and one of the most interesting with which Piaget decided to test itself was rock crystal. The Altiplano skeleton reference 93018 is a truly magnificent creation by the Swiss firm where the rock crystal has a main Rolex in both bracelet and case composition. The rock crystal circular case with stepped gold bezel, gold triple batons at the quarters, t-lugs has a glazed display back secured by six screws. The bracelet is in 18k yellow gold with inner crystal links and gold clasp. The skeletonized dial shows the finely pierced and engraved gilt-finished lever movement with feuille hands. We are here in the presence of an object of the finest quality, given the great difficulties deriving from the processing of crystal.
