In the ’20s of the 1900s, watches had increasingly found a place on the wrists of many businessmen. Few years earlier than the Great Depression of the 1929 market, Patek Philippe manufactured the present wristwatch in the perfect standard of style of the time. The case has a two-body composition with hinged case back very thin straight lugs and has been manufactured in 18k yellow gold and it is important to underline that this case is very particular with an unusual big size of 26 × 38 mm which compared to other Patek productions of that time make it a contemporary watch. Called by the Italian collectors “carta da gioco” the shape has been ideated to fit perfectly on the wrist and despite its age it has been preserved in a nice way with little signs of the years on the case like the oxidation that is clearly visible. The champagne dial has very large painted Arabic Dauphine numbers to make it easier to read, inner minute track and steel skeleton hands. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in yellow gold in 1921 and its subsequent sale on 13 March 1924.
