Piaget produced the reference 14105 around 1970, and it ran until circa 1976. It was released in the concomitance with the launch of the Beta21 movement which was released at the Basel Fair in April 1970. To house the large rectangular shape of the movement was, of course, necessary a big size case: thus Piaget gave life to reference 14105 such as the present lot and more other like 14101 or 14102. The result is this superb white-gold diamond set three-stepped case. The dial is also embellished with diamonds using a method called snow setting in which diamonds are set side by side, playing on variations in diameter, making each piece different, and therefore unique. The quarters are also indicated by 2 sapphires each making the whole watch even more precious. This very model was available in two different versions: one, such as the present lot, with a leather strap and the other with a gold and diamond bracelet. Preserved in remarkable conditions as testified by the deep engravings on the back, this specimen is an absolute joy for precious stones’ lovers.
