The story of Seiko began in 1881, when a 21-year-old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. Since then there have been many evolutions for the watch industry and it was in the 1990s when Sato embarked on developing a chronograph with this mechanism, he visited the U.S. and Europe to do market research. After this research, he reached the conclusion that he should compete on uniquely Japanese values, rather than try to follow Swiss values and here he thought of this magnificent example of Seiko Kinetic. The Kinetic System automatically generates and stores electrical energy to power a quartz watch, utilizing the movement of the watch itself. Moreover the lot offered here comes with an unusual four face showing of their technical expertise with a 1/10 th of a second sweep chrono hand, date, oval button for the chronograph and a stainless steel and carbon fiber Seiko link bracelet with deployant clasp. This watch was released to the world in 1999 as a limited edition of 1 000 watches.
