In 2004 Renaud de Retz and Guillaume Tetu founded the luxury watch manufacturer “Hautlence” with headquarters in Neuchâtel. The name “Hautlence” is an anagram of “Neuchatel”. Both founders previously accumulated experience at Longines, Jaeger-LeCoultre, LVMH and TAG Heuer, but decided a new approach to the interpretation of timepieces. The first models were powered by the manual winding movement Peseux 7001. To solve the problem of power loss at the retrograde minute display, one ventured a totally new approach and adopted the principle of the connecting rod known from locomotives. The brand is located in high price segment and pays strict attention to exclusivity. So of the respective model editions there is only a maximum of 88 pieces. The lot offered here is one of those limited editions that the brand wants to create, numbered 12/88, made in titanium brushed with black DLC-coated stainless steel bezel and sides with its large cushion-shape case and completed by down-turned lugs, transparent back with four special screws, curved sapphire crystals. The dial is very particular fully in 18k pink gold with recessed time indication, magnified window for the jumping Arabic hours on black chapter ring, recessed fan-shaped sector for the retrograde minutes, eccentric subsidiary seconds and completed by luminous pink skeleton arrow minute hand. Also called TV Screen due to its shape of 16:9 ratio this watch is a true pearl of engineering.
