Established in 1775 by Abraham Louis Breguet, widely considered the greatest watchmaker of all time, the storied brand continues to thrive in the modern era, creating exceptional high-end watches. From the first moment Mr. Breguet recognized the importance of engaging with aristocrats, royalty and the wealthy. While Breguet served male clients, he also made watches and clocks for female patrons, including Marie-Antoinette, Queen of France, the Empress Joséphine and Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples. From that moment on, the brand also specialized in the creation of lady’s wristwatch, in some cases more similar to jewels than watches but always extremely pleasant and absolutely careful to each detail. The example here offered is absolutely remarkable for its craftsmanship: the yellow-gold round case is preserve in exceptional conditions, with deep hallmarks on the back and a bezel set with 28 brilliant diamonds. The Fancy circular/oval lugs are also set with 17 diamonds and linked to the case by a baguette-cut emerald arch links that recalls the green cabochon. The thin bracelet is very light and fancy with a structure composed of circles linked to each other. The two-tone silvered dial has guillochè decoration, radial Roman numerals on a plain reserve and outer dot minute divisions. The watch also comes with the original tag with still the old price on it and booklets.
