For decades, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust has stood as the modern archetype of the classic men’s wristwatch. This particular Rolex Datejust is a reference 16 013, indicating its construction in stainless steel and yellow gold. The three-piece case, featuring a screw-down back and gold crown, boasts an 18k yellow-gold reeded bezel and a crystal with a cyclops lens. It is paired with a jubilee bracelet in steel, with inner links in gold. The silver dial, adorned with applied gold baton indexes, outer minutes/seconds divisions, and a date aperture, remains incredibly fresh-looking and well-preserved. Notably, the dial features an unusual logo at 6 o’clock: the Dallah Avco signature. Throughout the years, particularly from the ’50s to the ’80s, Rolex produced many dials with logos and military insignias, mainly for the Arab market. Initially, the logo dial likely started as a special order from a valued client, gained popularity, and eventually, Rolex created these dials as gifts for their best customers. Founded in 1975, Dallah Avco is an organization providing aviation services, particularly for the Saudi Ministry of Defense and Aviation.
