The present Omega 2943SC in platinum stands as one of the rarest and most desirable creations in Omega’s storied history. Introduced in the 1950s, this extraordinary timepiece belongs to the legendary Constellation line, celebrated for its unmatched precision and timeless elegance. Crafted from platinum—a material reserved for only the finest of watches—it is part of an ultra-exclusive special edition of just 10 pieces, each steeped in remarkable history. Commissioned by a Middle East Royal Family, this series has an illustrious journey: one watch was gifted to Pope John XXIII, eight to the Royal Family, and one was held by Omega as a prized relic for its historical collection. Yet, in an astonishing twist, the watch ended up in the hands of Gioielleria Rafanelli in Livorno as a special request for the client Mr. Ezio Trotta, who bought it and then passed it on to his son-in-law. In an exchange of letter steeped in diplomacy, Omega graciously requested the return of the watch, offering two stunning white-gold models for the son-in-law and his wife. Yet, this offer was declined, adding further intrigue to the story. The condition of this watch is nothing short of exceptional: the case has been very nicely preserved, with crisp hallmarks and a clearly defined Constellation emblem adorning the case back and the rare engraving ”Hors Serie”, French sentence for Limited Series. The dial of this 2943SC is a masterpiece in itself, with applied hour markers and the iconic Constellation star—a symbol of the brand’s legacy and attention to craftsmanship. Over the decades, the dial has developed a beautiful patina, aging gracefully to a soft and alluring light yellow, enhancing its unique character. This timepiece is definitely a piece of horological history. For the passionate collector, this is an extraordinary opportunity to own one of the rarest Omega Constellations ever made, a watch whose rarity and story elevate it to the status of a true collector’s dream.
