The Gondolo collection pays tribute to Patek Philippe’s legacy by blending its historic “form watches” with the bold lines and geometric elegance characteristic of the Art Deco era. Introduced at the 1999 Basel Watch Fair, the reference 5099RG marked a distinct shift in Patek Philippe’s design approach. Featuring a refined Cabriolet-style case crafted from 18K white and rose gold, it exemplified a perfect balance of sophistication and timeless elegance. Patek Philippe’s technicians dedicated three years to perfecting this intricate case, composed of 52 individual components. The term “Cabriolet” derives from the hinged cover, which can be opened similarly to a convertible car, using two side buttons on the case. The present Patek Philippe reference 5099 is conserved in excellent overall condition and showscases excellent proportions and crisp case back hallmarks. A refined dress watch, the present timepiece is an excellent addition for collectors and connoisseurs who value uniqueness and rarity.
