Patek Philippe introduced reference 1509 in 1940, keeping it in production until the early 1950s. With a 35 mm diameter, the reference 1509 offered a notably larger size for its era, especially when compared to the 33 mm diameter of the contemporaneous and iconic reference 96 dress watch. The watch’s expansive dial is complemented by a sleek, well-balanced case, lending it an impressive presence on the wrist. Featuring an outer railway track at five-minute intervals, paired with dot markers for the minutes and Roman numerals at 12, 3, and 9, the watch appears elegant and refined. The dial has further acquired a lovely and charming cream patina over time, more prominent on the lower portion, further enhancing the watch’s visual appeal. Preserved in excellent overall condition, with strong proportions and full teardrop lugs, the present Patek Philippe reference 1509 is further fitted with a sporty beads-of-rice bracelet. This exceptionally refined timepiece exudes timeless charm, offering exquisite aesthetics that will captivate both novice collectors and seasoned horological enthusiasts alike.
