The Speedmaster is one of the most iconic watches ever made by any manufacturer. Originally, the Speedmaster was targeted for an “active clientele” but definitely reached world wide fame when chosen by NASA to be the official timekeeper for their space flight missions. In 1999 was introduced a new version of this model, the first one in Omega’s history, bearing the split-seconds complication. Only few of these watches have been made during a short time span from 1999 untill 2001/2002. The slightly different case of this model compared to the classic Speedmaster has lapidated lugs, a tachometer graduation on the steel bezel up to 350UPH, rectangular pushers and a screwed-down case back with Speedmaster logo, all preserved in very nice conditions. The carbon fiber with checkerbord motif dial has luminous white baton indexes, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers and luminous white lozenge and fleche hands and arrow hand for the split-seconds chronograph. Powered by the caliber 3600, the present watch is offered with box and original papers.
