The extraordinary example here offered is a unique specimen of the reference 5139 which debuted at Baselworld in 2008 and was updated in 2011 to include a lacquered dial. Its elegant and luxurious style comes from the 1973 Patek Phillipe ref. 3520, the first one to include the now iconic “Clous de Paris” bezel. Beautifully manufactured with an 18K white gold case measuring 38mm in diameter and 9mm thick, this watch features perpetual calendar, moon phases, 24 hours and leap year indicator. Preserved in pristine conditions, what makes special the present lot is its never seen blue lacquered dial with unique hand applied white gold Breguet Arabic numerals and the M.S.O logo at six o’clock, inside the moon phase subdial, meaning that this watch was specially created for Mr. Ovitz, former president of Walt Disney from 1995 to 1997. This watch is accompanied by the Original Warranty confirming the sale of the present watch in white gold on September 30th 2014.
