Rolex launched the Datejust in 1945 and is one of the most iconic watches ever produced by the Rolex brand. This reference 6605 has been introduced in 1956, and is characterized by a new case with a more tapered profile made possible by the new cal. 1065, characterized by smaller dimensions than the previous one. For the same reason, the case back loses its typical camber in favor of a flat profile. The reason why it has been called Datejust is pretty logical since this model has the capability to show “just” the date at the stroke of midnight. These specimens with the reference 6605 dates from 1956, one of the first produced featuring the classical waterproof Oyster case still in stunning conditions like it left the factory, with the “cyclops” helping to read the roulette black/red date better. The Swiss only dial is the peculiarity of this watch with the magnificent tropical silver-yellow color which turned the original white dial, decorated with applied heart dagger numbers and alpha rhodium hands. All preserved in great conditions this watch is ready to be placed in a connoisseur collection.
