The Cartier Tank Arrondie is an extremely intriguing and fascinating model released by Cartier. While the common Tank models are aptly named Tanks due to their recognizable bold straight lines and angular corners, the Tank Arrondie, which translates to “rounded” in French, introduces a slight departure from the classic design lineage of the collection. By softening the sharp edges of the traditional Tank, the Arrondie adopts a subtle cushion-like silhouette. Timeless and elegant, the present Arrondie showcases an elegant 18k yellow-gold case with refined proportions. At its core, a beautifully engineered manual-winding movement, caliber 21, ensures precision and timeless charm. The dial embodies Cartier’s signature aesthetic, featuring bold black Roman numerals, a finely detailed rectangular railway minute track, and striking blued steel sword hands that echo the sapphire cabochon set into the crown. A discreet “Paris” inscription at 6 o’clock pays homage to its prestigious origins, signifying that this timepiece was initially sold at Cartier’s renowned flagship boutique in Place Vendôme. Timeless and refined, the present Cartier Tank Arrondie, paired with its original yellow-gold Cartier deployant clasp is preserved in excellent overall condition and presents visible case back engravings and hallmarks.
